Sound Health Insurance of Illinois is underwritten by UniCare Health Insurance Company of Illinois. Sound Health Insurance is marketed towards younger adults ages 19-29 in the form of 3 different plans: the Gravity Bender A.K.A. 5000 (official plan name: UniCare IL Sound $5,000 CR47), the Curb Jumper A.K.A. 3000 (official plan name: UniCare IL Sound $3,000 CR46), and the Cruiser A.K.A. 1500 (official plan name: UniCare IL Sound $1,500 CR45).
All IL Sound Plans offer dental benefits, vision benefits, but with no maternity benefits. Each of the plans have a $40 copay for visits to the Doctor’s office (primary care and specialist Doctor visits are each $40) and a $10 copay for generic prescription drugs (brand name prescriptions are also covered under the plan but they are subject to a deductible and a higher copay). Sound Health Plans also offers discounts of up to 50% for its members for gym memberships, health club memberships, weight loss and fitness programs, yoga, and other healthy living programs.
